Meet Coach Nick!
Hey, future mountain bikers! I’m Coach Nick, and I started racing bikes when I was practically your age. Now, I get to coach the Trail Rangers Mountain Bike Team, where I help kids like YOU become awesome mountain bikers! Whether you’re new to biking or already know how to rip around, this is the team for you!
It's going to be so much fun this season. See you on the trails!
Meet Coach Valerie!
Hi Trail Rangers! I'm Coach Valerie, and I'm thrilled to be one of your head coaches this year alongside Coach Nick! I started as a volunteer coach last season and fell in love with watching riders discover their confidence on the trails. For me, mountain biking is all about adventure—the rush of a new trail, the beauty of riding through nature, and the freedom of being outdoors with friends. There's nothing better than seeing kids light up when they nail a skill they've been working on or conquer a trail that seemed impossible at first. I can't wait to share that same sense of adventure with all of you this season. Let's get out there and ride!

Pay It Forward
Would you like to sponsor a child’s season? Covering a rider’s registration fee helps more kids ride, grow, and join the Trail Rangers community. Bearings Bike Works is a nonprofit bike shop and youth program made possible by generous families like yours. Your support ensures every child who wants to ride can participate. If you’d like to pay it forward this season, please click the button below. Thank you for supporting our Trail Rangers!
Need Financial Assistance?
We want every child who is excited to ride to have the opportunity to participate. Trail Rangers is one of our unique program offerings and includes a program fee. These fees do not go to Bearings Bike Works—we serve as an affiliate location for the Georgia Cycling Association (GCA), and all fees support GCA’s rider expeditions, coach training, and insurance coverage. Bearings provides program support at no cost as part of our commitment to the community.
Thanks to our partnership with GCA—and the generosity of individual donors who support Bearings Bike Works—we’re able to help lower barriers to participation in the Trail Rangers program.
What to Know About Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is needs-based and may help offset registration costs.
Funds are limited, and we are not able to sponsor every applicant.
Priority is given to riders who:
Are enrolled in the Skills for Life program (students must complete 12 hours to be eligible).
Face greater barriers to accessing youth cycling opportunities.
Are part of the Bearings program community and are deepening their engagement through Trail Rangers.
Shared Commitment Matters
Families who receive assistance are asked to contribute what they reasonably can, even if it’s a small amount. We’ll provide contribution options and work with you to find a level that fits your family.
This contribution is not meant to create financial strain, but rather to reflect shared participation and investment in the program.
How to Apply
If you’d like to apply for financial assistance, please email nick@bearingsbikeworks.org with the subject line:
Trail Rangers Financial Aid
If you’re unsure whether to apply or have questions, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to talk through options together.
Equipment for the Season
