Local Resources for Counseling & Mental Health Support:

Chris180 

  • Description: Chris 180 provides counseling centers across Metro Atlanta to assist people of all ages through tough times, so they can feel better and function better.

  • Cost: Offers a sliding fee scale & accepts several insurances for services. 

  • Locations: Across Metro Atlanta 

Mercy Care

  • Description: Individual counseling and medication management is provided when needed. We also offer spiritual support through pastoral programs.

  • Make an appointment: Call 678-843-8600 and ask to talk to a member of the behavioral health team about scheduling options.

  • Cost: Uses a sliding fee scale system to provide care and cost, based on your ability to pay. 

  • Location: Most behavioral health visits can now take place over the phone or by virtual visit. 

Odyssey Counseling

  • Description: Odyssey seeks to improve the well-being of individuals and families by providing comprehensive and accessible behavioral health services.

  • Cost: Accepts several kinds of insurance; co-payment charges are determined by the insurance company and policy and accept the following insurance: Medicaid, Caresource, Peachstate (Cenpatico), Amerigroup, Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna.   • Description: Provides professional life coaching and consulting services (individual and group sessions).

Hope Counseling Centers  https://hopecounselingatlanta.com – 

  • Description: Hope Counseling Centers provides quality, affordable mental healthcare throughout the metro-Atlanta area. Our goal is to help clients develop stronger coping skills, build healthier relationships, recover from the difficulties of life, and experience personal and spiritual growth.

  • Cost/ Insurance: We offer sliding scale, private pay, and insurance options

  • Location: Services are a bit far away, but online options are available; Hope Counseling at Cumberland Counseling Centers Vinings is located inside of Renovation Church at 1775 Water Place Atlanta, GA 30339

Fulton County Child or Adolescent Behavioral Health Services 

  • Description: The Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities contracts with CHRIS 180 and Georgia HOPE. CHRIS180 delivers services both in clinic settings and directly within schools, while Georgia HOPE provides comprehensive in-clinic behavioral and mental health services such as individual, family and group therapy, mental health treatment, and substance abuse and substance use treatment.

  • Make an appointment: Call one of the locations that is most convenient to you, and schedule an appointment for an intake assessment. You will need to bring the following items:

    • Birth Certificate or Social Security Card

    • Insurance card

    • Picture ID of parent or guardian

  • Cost/ Insurance: All offices take Medicaid, WellCare, CareSource, Amerigroup, and Cenpatico/Peachstate. Depending on the location, private insurances are accepted (e.g. BCBS/Anthem, Cigna, Aetna, AmBetter, United Healthcare, Medicare, etc.). Please contact the office closest to you to determine if your private insurance is accepted.

Fulton County Adult Mental Health 

Description: Fulton County provides comprehensive mental health and substance use services to all residents, regardless of their ability to pay. We serve uninsured adults and veterans, including those with Medicaid or Medicare.Therapy services for common mental health concerns—including depression, anxiety, addiction, and other emotional and psychological issues—are provided free of charge or offered on a sliding scale based on income and family size.

Bring the following documents:

  1. Proof of Income (two most recent pay stubs) or a wage statement from the Georgia Department of Labor

  2. Proof of Fulton County Residence (a bill or mail in your name showing a Fulton County address).

  3. Georgia issued state identification and current mail.  Bring a jail record if recently released.
