Bearings Advisory Board
The Bearings Bike Works Advisory Board is a small group of community-minded leaders that provide advice support to Bearings leadership and its governing board on arenas of growth, expansion, partnerships and the like.
Members are invited to serve based on their particular areas of expertise, passion for youth development and seeing the youth of Atlanta thrive, and their willingness to help the Bearings Bike Works achieve its goals. Membership is based on one-year terms.
EXPECTATIONS:
The responsibilities of the Advisory Board include providing advice and insight into business development and organizational development, initiatives.
Advisory Board members often help in promoting Bearings service to the community and are asked from time to time to help with networking, door-opening, and influencing with key foundations, prospective donors, and community partners.
MEETINGS:
Meetings of the Advisory Board will be twice annually, once in the spring and again in the fall, but more often take the form of individual conversations with the Executive Director and other leadership team members as needed. The Advisory Board will maintain written minutes of its meetings and are filed with the organization’s corporate records.
The Advisory Board will undertake the specific responsibilities listed below and will not have the authority or power to undertake any acts or duties except as the Executive Director may from time to time prescribe. For the avoidance of doubt, except as specifically authorized by the Executive Director in writing, neither the Advisory Board nor its individual members shall be authorized to bind the Company in any way or provide recommendations to the Executive Director.
